History & Geography

We study history through a Biblical lens, viewing history as "His Story" the story of God's redemptive plan for mankind.
"For God has allowed us to know the secret of His plan, and it is this: He purposed long ago in His sovereign will that all human history should be consumated in Christ." (Ephesians 1:9-10, Phillips Translation)
"His Story" is an eternal story. He is the eternal God who is victorious over sin and death.

"I am the first and the last: I am He that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive forever more, Amen; and have the keys of hell, and of death. Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter." (Revelations 1:17-19)

Studying history through this lenses takes history from being a study of random events, to a study not only of what happened but why and how does it fit into God's plan of redemption.

One of the benefits of the Principle Approach to education is that we often integrate subjects together which is true of the study of history and geography we often study the "setting," or geography of the area we are learning about in history.
