Core Principles

Foundation
We believe that Gods Word is truth, we therefore start with His Word (truth) and reason from that applying it to all that we do. His Word is our “chief Cornerstone.” Whether we are considering curriculum or educational methods for the classroom, educational philosophy or teacher training, or how to manage and structure the school.

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken to a wise man who built his house upon the rock.” (Matthew 7:24)
Christian Character
The primary purpose of Foundations Christian Academy is to build Christian character within each of our students. The great commandments can be summarized to say love God first and most and love your neighbor as yourself. Fulfilling these commandments can only be accomplished by an internal work of the Holy Spirit. We are unable, without the transformational power of the Holy Spirit, to fulfill these commands. Therefore, as God’s greatest and highest command our first duty is the assist the internal working of the Holy Spirit in the lives of our students, to bring forth the fruits of God’s Spirit in their lives.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)
Academic Excellence
Throughout the Bible God continually instructs parents or His people to teach children His commandments, His mighty works, or His praiseworthy deeds. He instructs students to study, to know His Word, to gain understanding and wisdom.
God calls each of us to be good stewards. God has uniquely gifted each student, our role as parents and teachers is to help each student develop those gifts, fully equipping the student to use them for the glory of God. Excellence for each student is diligently developing the unique gifts and talents they have been given by God. As God gives each of use unique gifts and talents, excellence is measured individually in each student.

Partnering
with Parents
In the educational environment today, it is often challenging to find a school who aligns with the beliefs and values being taught in the home. We strive to partner with parents who desire to At Foundations, we practice an educational model that produces academic excellence and builds a Biblical worldview within the hearts and minds of our students.
As a Christian school committed to building upon the Word of God, it is important to us that as we grow our community of Christian families, that each family, or at least one parent be active in a local church. It is a priority that we maintain a unity of the Spirit around core Biblical principles.
